| Project Name: | FY-94 Wastewater Treatment Plant |
| Client: | U.S. Army Corps of Engineers |
| Location: | Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida |
| Magnitude: | $11 Million |

This project consisted of the construction of a new activated-sludge type domestic wastewater treatment plant that was permitted to handle 800,000 gallons per day average daily flow. This plant served not only the industrial area of the base, but it also provided for the collection of wastewater from 17 other launch complex sites. Existing small package plants and drain fields were demolished at the launch complex sites, and force mains and lift stations were installed to direct the flow to the new treatment plant location. Additionally, a sludge dewatering facility (a building, two concrete tanks, and associated equipment) were constructed at the Trident/Port Canaveral area to supplement the pretreatment facility for the shipboard waste from ships and submarines that dock at the Air Station side of the Port. When the new facility was put into service, the original wastewater treatment plant was demolished.
