Award: $26M Unmanned Aerial Systems Hangar

We’re Building the Future of Unmanned Warfare

We’ve been awarded a firm-fixed contract for the construction of a new Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Hangar at Fort Carson, Colorado. Construction of the UAS hangar will consist of a 51,757 square foot, two-story, slab-on-grade building that includes administrative, training, storage and supply, tool and parts storage, and an allied shop. The aircraft hangar portion of the facility will accommodate four fully assembled MQ-1C Gray Eagle aircraft. Approximately 20 feet of structural fill is anticipated to raise the grade of the site to the design finished subgrade/grade elevations.

Additional construction will include 105,360 square feet of organizational vehicle parking; 21,870 square feet of runway extensions; 36,800 square feet of new taxiway and hangar access/maintenance apron; a 2,048 square foot Organizational Storage Building; a 2,200 square foot Aircraft Container Storage Shed; and a 300 square foot HAZMAT and Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricant Storage Building.

The assignment and operation of the Gray Eagle Company will enhance training at Fort Carson by integrating a key reconnaissance and support asset of the modern battle space. UAS aircraft provide real-time battlefield intelligence gathering and unmanned aerial attack capabilities to ground units.

Additionally, the project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® green building program with a goal of achieving LEED® Silver certification upon completion.
