Our Safety Processes

Zero injury Philosophy

Safety's Logo

We believe that safety is not a program, but rather a process and can be successfully planned, implemented, and adapt quickly to changing situations. Our team is committed to providing a safe workplace with a ZERO injury philosophy that starts from the top down. Everyone is required to accept ownership of safety performance with the objective of NO safety incidents. All team members are expected and empowered to take action to maintain our ZERO injury rate.

Safety at our construction sites is governed by a site and project specific Accident Prevention Plan prepared in accordance with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Safety and Health Requirements Manual, EM 358-1-1, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Standard Number 1926, Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, and any additional contract specific requirements. Everyone working at the site is required to undergo safety training and commit to adherence to the Accident Prevention Plan.

Safety Training

All of our construction personnel maintain current certifications for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED and the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, a comprehensive safety training program that instills knowledge on recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards at a construction site. Many of our Site Safety and Health Officers possess additional safety training from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals that includes the CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) designations. This commitment to safety equips our team to lead our construction subcontractors and partners in safe work practices.

During construction, we utilize innovative methods to maintain a focus on safety that include Toolbox Safety Meetings with pop quizzes and prizes, quarterly safety luncheons at the jobsite, and a safety incentive opportunity. This is a proactive and just‐in‐time approach to ensuring safety is the foremost consideration in all tasks being performed.

Protecting life, health, and well-being as well as property and owner interests during the construction process is essential to exceeding expectations, and we tirelessly meet these challenges head-on.
